profile image Carey Parks was born and raised in California. In 1984, she received dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Zoology and Fine Art from the University of California, at Santa Barbara. In 1986, she enrolled in the M.F.A. program at San Jose State University where she graduated with a Masters degree in Painting. Living and working in San Francisco she painted abstract urban landscapes in acrylics and oils. Some of her work was accepted at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art(sales and rental gallery). In 1990 she lived abroad in Paris, France, where her work went from abstract urban scenes to more traditional landscapes.
Currently, Carey lives in Connecticut where she teaches six-week long painting classes at her own studio as well as the Silvermine School of Art. Her new body of work is a "slice of life" depicted in a modern figurative themes.
